Angelo from 4SDesigns loves a bit of visual trickery—trompe-l’œil as the French would put it—in his designs. Something established early was his affinity for making leather that doesn't look like leather.
Before any of the big houses were doing it, his custom washed denim-effect lambskin pieces for the Nordstrom pop-up were blowing everyone's minds. This season he revisits the concept with a raw denim look achieved through debossing and printing leather to give the look and texture of dry cotton.
A garment like this is about the connection between designer and wearer. The optical illusion means that most passers-by will never give it a second glance, remaining oblivious to the unimaginable luxury.
